OK, so that was waaaay too long in between posts. I've been working on Otherworld, and for some reason wasn't comfortable posting about it in this blog. Don't ask me why, it makes no sense at all in retrospect.
So, I'l probably post a bit about some of the stuff I'm doing for that. No reason I can't meditate on Actionscript as well as C++.
Probably Inform7 as well. I've been looking at some of the adult based interactive text adventures out there: Valente and Fenoxo in particular. The whole transgender doesn't do anything for me I'm afraid, but they way they've been using Inform is a bit of an eye opener. So I've been playing around with something similar that plays more to my own particular interests. So expect a bit of that to show up as well.
(I know, I know ... another new project that'll last just long enough to look interesting and then get dropped in favour of the next shiny language. What can I say? It's how I learn things).

Hey there, Nuku here.
Fenoxo uses Flash, I use Inform. The code's open source if you want a peek at it.
Also, note, you CAN completely disable transgender in Flexible Survival, if you desire. Just take 'male preferred' or 'female preferred' and you'll never get changed to the other.
I hope you have fun with Inform, poke if you have questions.
Hey Nuku, thanks for replying.
Didn't realise Fenoxo's game was flash based. I think I assumed it was Inform given that it was text based. Just goes to show, I guess.
And yeah, I know about the "... prefered" options. But then I can't take "survivalist". (I know, some folks are never happy ;))
I may take you up on the offer re: Inform. I made an Inform game a while back, but it was a couple of generations ago, and the language has changed beyond all recognition since then. Twice. But I want to have a play with it first so I can at least ask sensible questions :)
Ah ha! You haven't played in a while. You now get 'fun' feats separate from functional ones.
So, yep, you can start with preferred AND survivalist.
Do poke if something comes up with inform though.
