Turns out that having the same node in two places in a tree is a no-no. Easy fixed - just copy the text and tag elements down the tree instead, making sure to add a node to the end so that there's sufficent room.
Now I need to do that for the narratives as well, since just loosing focus when a narrative is added looks weird now.
